Hi! I’m Lori Seaborg.
Some of the things that make me smile include journals, yellow walls, sunlight, foo-foo fancy coffee from the local coffee shop, my Nikon but also my iPhone, fabric, yarn, thread (okay, all textiles), a spontaneous family dance in the kitchen, a sketchpad & portable watercolor tray, my kayak, my small picturesque town, geeky techy stuff, Gulf Coast beaches, fellow missionary kids, chickens, unpredictable weather, and plenty of free time to follow my whims.
I live a simple life with my family on a river in America that empties into the Gulf of Mexico just a few miles downstream. This is my backyard…
Here is my man, whom I fell for at 18, when he was 19. His job is to build big ships. He’s a tough guy, and I still kinda like him.
Our four children make me laugh out loud daily and are the inspiration behind thousands of photos. These three are 13, 10, and 15. They’re homeschooled kids, who love to learn and know how to learn anything.
This one is 18, and pictured here with his 1962 Mercury Monterey (he paid for it with cash!), and accompanied by his best friend (on the right). He graduatesfrom our homeschool in 2014 and is planning on heading to Troy University in the fall. I’ll cry.
Family is first. When I have extra time, and they’re all happy, I pro-blog, as in, make a lil bit of income, by blogging at my FreelyEducate.com about the freedom to homeschool (no matter the obstacle). It’s an accidental success…I began the blog as a pay-it-forward project during Hurricane Katrina, since others helped us through Hurricane Ivan the previous year.
This blog is about the things I find to be “just pure lovely.” Those words (just, pure, lovely) are taken from Philippians 4:8, a Bible verse, where we’re given the advice to think about things that are just and pure and lovely, among other things like those that are noble and true.
I really appreciate your visits to my blog. You encourage my scatter-brain to focus on the “just pure lovely” things in life. For that, I thank you.
