Aren’t these ladies beautiful? I just love Mardi Gras! I don’t think anyone who goes to the Mardi Gras festivities after Christmas can possibly get post-holiday depression. Mardi Gras will take that right out of you!
Yesterday we went to our favorite parade with some friends. It was only 38F degrees. That’s so-freezing-we-can’t-hardly-stand-it to us Southerners, so “yay” for the cold, it kept the crowds away!
The Crewe de Spaniards sure know how to throw a Mardi Gras parade! Along with the marching band, the color guard, the policemen, and a few vehicles with musicians or (sigh) ads, there were several colorful and big floats and – our very reason for coming – lots and lots of “throws” (that’s what we call the things that hit our heads or fall on the street for us to pick up: beads of all colors, stuffed animals, plastic toys, Moon Pies, little candies, and did I say beads already?). We left with 10 happy children! (uh, yeah, we have a lot between us)
