I just received an email from a friend to pray for a childhood friend whose wife delivered a 1 lb. 15 oz. baby today that was due in May. Then I read the news that a father lost his 12 year old son who had been playing when a bomb went off in the Middle East today.
News like today’s makes me want to go visit my garden, where little baby plants are coming up, and all seems right in the world.
Even when it’s not really.
The little plants’ (and little children’s, too, I suppose), world is all right as long as they have food & water & protection. I love that simplicity. So I like to visit growing things (and growing kids) when the world seems too big and I feel too small.
