I’ll get right to it…I’m moving on from this blog, Just Pure Lovely. I have really enjoyed my time here, since 2008.
Through this blog, I worked with many brands like HP and RedBox, and was invited on several Disney Social Media Moms Celebrations . I made online friends with many who read this blog, and I can’t describe how much you encouraged me through the mothering-elementary-and-middle-school years.
More importantly, to me, are the memories this blog contains. Our LilBit was only 5 in 2008. She’s 14 now.
I had the wind blown out of me, emotionally, in 2014, and that’s when Just Pure Lovely began fading away, less of a priority than before life hit me so hard.
About the same time, our eldest graduated from our homeschool, and that brought a lot of emotions to the surface, as I was at boarding school for my childhood, and couldn’t be convinced he wasn’t “leaving the island,” as I did when I graduated. (He didn’t – he moved only 3 hours away for college, and I survived!).
Then, our next child was ready to graduate, and we needed to make a lot of special memories during her Senior year (did we ever!), and then the election happened, which was very distracting, especially in a homeschooling household with two new voters!
Plus, we had three teens and a preteen, now three teens and a college kid, and I learned that I had far less time alone than I had when they were little. I really miss naptime! The busiest days are behind me, it seems, as two are graduated from our homeschool now, and need me less and less.
For the past six months, I’ve pondered on Just Pure Lovely, and have come to realize it’s a beautiful, absolutely cherished part of my life, but it is one that is no longer relevant for me. I successfully learned over the 6 years of blogging on here how to think on the just, the pure, the lovely (when I begin to doubt, it’s become a habit to change my thoughts), and I’m ready for a new challenge now. My new challenge is inspired by this image:
I’ll tell you more about it later! Sooner than later, I hope! I have a bit more praying to do, and I need to organize homeschool work for two teens who have been slacking too much this year. Priorities can be so difficult to live.
Thank you for being part of my life here. I’ll keep this site up for quite a while longer – perhaps years – as it contains so much of what I treasure, and I like to visit it now and then for perspective.
As always, I’m still blogging at FreelyHomeschool.com (also known as FreelyEducate.com), as that one pays me enough to not have to go to a part-time job. I have begun working on LoriSeaborg.com, which will contain my thoughts and photos (it’s basically the Just Pure Lovely replacement). It’s under construction, but I’ll make it viewable so you can see the progress. I hope, depending on those slacking teens and their homeschool work, to have it up and viewable by later this month (July).
Thank you again! God bless you!
